vivo as a smartphone brand started in 2009 in China with the first product launched in 2011. In a fiercely competitive market like China which was already been well captured by some of the prominent national and international brands, it was a highly demanding situation for a brand to make a big impact. With the space for competition being cut short in the China market, any new brand which is in pursuit of a market presence requires cutting edge innovation in their handsets. vivo with an ambition to make it big in the smartphone industry made tech innovations their key ingredients of all the handsets that hit the market right from the first product launched to the most recent launches.

Within 3 years of its entry into the China Smartphone market, vivo managed to surpass Apple in terms of total handset sale thus entering into the top 5 handset brands in China. Now, vivo is already ranked no. 3. From there with the confidence to challenge the big wigs of the smartphone industry.

vivo started it's international journey with the first big launch in Thailand in August 2014. The launch in Thailand saw the brand launch with the unveiling of the flagship product X5Max to make its first penetration in the international market.

The next destination for vivo in the international market was India, which was also the biggest market after China. vivo was launched in India on 15 December 2014, with the President and global CEO, global CMO and vivo India CEO interacting with the media, also officially unveiling the world slimmest phone X5Max in India, along with handsets from X-series and Y-series. vivo entered in the Indian market in partnership with Viacom 18 for the media promotions. With the ambition to introduce a new generation of smartphones to the Indian consumers, vivo launched only handpicked range of smartphones.

With a further expansion to other key markets in Asia, vivo launched the brand and the star flagship product X5Max in Myanmar along with an exclusive media interaction of global CEO and the CEO of vivo Myanmar. Along with the big brand and product launch, vivo also introduced the legacy of striving for the most cutting edge technology and achieving perfection in any product that comes out of vivo's R&D.

After Myanmar, vivo made its grand entry recently in Indonesia and Malaysia with the launch of the brand vivo and X5Pro on 11 June 2015. The grand launch in Indonesia saw the famous model and actress Sigi Wimala and popular actor Tora Sudiro unveiling the X5Pro.

Since vivo X1, the first handset launched at Water Cube, Beijing in November 2012, vivo has been introducing technology innovations, whether it's the slimmest smartphone of the world, the first smartphone with a 2k screen or the smartphone with world's first Hi-Fi audio technology.

Within 4 years of its entry into the China Smartphone market, vivo managed to land the top 3 smartphone brand leaving even some of the top international brands behind in terms of handset sale. vivo's entry to the international market will continue with the upcoming launch in Vietnam and the Philippines.

vivo Philippines was incorporated 8 July 2015 as VIVO MOBILE TECH., INC. Headed by CEO, Mr. Teddy Xiong, with the vision to make the vivo brand the top 3 smartphone brand in the Philippines in 3 years time, vivo will continue to pursue our goal of being one of the most loved and adored brand and this goal shall keep us going without any second thoughts. The first batch of vivo smartphones shall be introduced to the Philippine market by January 2016. Starting of with vivo V1 and vivo Y31, handpicked mid-range products shall be available to selected Key Account partners.
