The seeds for Trend Micro’s Philippine operations were planted in April 1998, when it became apparent that another customer service office was needed to support the growing number of Trend Micro customers. Trend Micro envisioned developing a world-class antivirus research and support center that would cater to the needs of customers around the globe. The result was TrendLabs, a global network of five regional antivirus research and support centers, with an ISO-9002 certified headquarters in the Philippines.

Since 2000, Trend Micro Philippines has been located at IBM Plaza, Eastwood City, Bagumbayan, Quezon City. TrendLabs’ headquarters was built in the Philippines due to its huge pool of IT expertise and the large number of English-language speakers—two core qualities needed for building a successful team of Trend Micro engineers. The Philippines office grew from 13 pioneers in 1997 to over 850 employees in 2006.

Trend Micro Incorporated is a global leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services. Founded in 1988 by Steve Chang, the company led the migration of virus protection from the desktop to the network server and the Internet gateway, gaining a reputation for vision and technological innovation along the way. Trend Micro focuses on outbreak prevention and on providing customers with a comprehensive approach to managing the outbreak lifecycle and the impact of network worms and virus threats to productivity and information, through such initiatives as Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy.

 

VACANCIES


PRODUCT SUPPORT SERVICES DEPARTMENT

CORPORATE/CONSUMER SUPPORT MANAGER
* Monitor engineers based on productivity and training targets as well as handle escalated cases.
* Preferably supervisor / 5 yrs experienced employees specializing in IT/Computer -Network/System/Database Admin or equivalent.
* Strong customer service, account management, and negotiation skills.
* Individuals who have work experience are preferred.
* Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any IT-related course and must have excellent oral and written English communication skills.
* Must have a customer-centric attitude, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to succeed.

ENTERPRISE ACCOUNT MANAGER
* Manage support issues directly related to the use, support, and implementation of Trend Micro products and solutions.
* Two or more years of experience with network operations, troubleshooting, and management in a multi-protocol (TCP/IP) routed network desired.
* Strong customer service, account management, and negotiation skills.
* Individuals who have work experience are preferred.
* Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any IT-related course and must have excellent oral and written English communication skills.
* Must have a customer-centric attitude, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to succeed.

ENGLISH TECHNICAL WRITER
* Manage, edit, improve, and position the content of Trend Micro’s online searchable global English knowledge base for both internal and external customers.
* Plan, coordinate, and implement content projects and deliverables that meet the information needs and requirements of Trend Micro’s global technical support team.
* University degree in either IT or Communication fields (e.g. Computer Science, English, Journalism, etc.).
* At least 1 year of technical or instructional writing, course development, or similar experience.
* Superior English writing and editing skills. Previous professional copy editing, online editing or technical documentation experience is preferred.
* Understanding of corporate computer networks / Internet infrastructure, and HTML, graphics or web design skills would be considered advantages.

MONITOR OPERATION CENTER ENGINEER
* Take ownership of the Premium Support and MSO relationship with Trend Micro's customers to drive customer satisfaction.
* Strong customer service, account management, and negotiation skills.
* Individuals who have work experience are preferred but fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
* Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any IT-related course and must have excellent oral and written English communication skills.
* Must have a customer-centric attitude, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to succeed.

JAPANESE TECHNICAL WRITER
* Translate selected English content into Japanese (and vice versa) for Trend Micro’s online searchable Japanese knowledge base
* Translate metadata or fields for each knowledge base entry and make adjustments as needed
* Ensure the translated content is clear, concise, follows corporate standards, and is understandable by the target audience.
* Check if similar knowledge base entries already exist in the English knowledge base and consult with Subject Matter Experts if these apply to English products
* University degree in either IT or Communication fields (e.g. Computer Science, English, Journalism, etc.).
* At least 1 year of technical or instructional writing, course development, or similar experience.
* Above average English-to-Japanese, and Japanese-to-English translation skills.
* Above average English and Japanese communication skills (e.g., writing, reading and speaking).
* Understanding of corporate computer networks / Internet infrastructure, and HTML, graphics or web design skills would be considered advantages.

RESEARCH ANALYST
* Closely monitor market and industry movements, and constantly performs environment analysis to provide sound, data-based strategic options and positioning, especially on the enterprise customer segment.
* Must have a customer-centric attitude, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to succeed.

SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER
* Provide high-quality and highly responsive support services to Cisco and other Trend Micro partners.
* Must have substantial knowledge in Microsoft or Unix/Linux OS, preferably with Cisco/CCNA certification or higher.
* Strong customer service, account management, and negotiation skills.
* Individuals who have work experience are preferred.
* Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any IT-related course and must have excellent oral and written English communication skills.
* Must have a customer-centric attitude, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to succeed.

SYSTEMS ENGINEER
* Provide high-quality technical support (through phone or email) coming from Trend Micro clients around the world.
* Must be dynamic, quick learner, and customer service-driven.
* Knowledgeable on LAN/WAN and Data communications, Network Support and Information Security Area.
* Individuals who have work experience are preferred but fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.

ANTI-VIRUS DEPARTMENT:

ANTIVIRUS ENGINEER
* Proficient in 80x86 Assembly, VISUAL BASIC and/or C/C++/ Script Programming.
* Knowledgeable in Windows NT Server/Workstation, Windows 95/98, TCP/IP.
* Must be knowledgeable in D-S/BI-S function call and PC architecture.
* Knowledge in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage.
* Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, especially those who belong to the top 15% of the graduating batch.

TEAM LEADER - GLOBAL SECURITY RESPONSE TEAM
* Provide direction, planning, leadership, supervision and overall management of team tasks.
* Plan and allocate resources while ensuring global 24/7 service support.
* Preferred language: Chinese.
* At least 3 years’ work experience as a Team Leader or equivalent.

TEAM LEAD – CONTENT SECURITY TEAM
* Generate and release AntiSpam & AntiPhishing pattern.
* Experience with software organizational benchmarking, metrics, and process improvement would be a plus.
* Basic Programming Skills [Perl,C,VB,ASP, etc.], understanding and skilled at SMTP/HTTP Programming.
* At least 2 years’ experience as a team lead or at least a year’s experience in software development process, software product lifecycle model, and quality management.
* Willing to go on shifting schedule if needed.

PROJECT LEADER – AV RESEARCH TEAM
* Research on new virus and security technologies
* Become the internal point of contact for escalations related to service delivery issues.
* Identify, implement, and maintain continuous improvement programs designed to identify issues, perform root-cause analysis and eliminate process defects.
* Preferred language: Chinese.
* Preferably supervisor / 5 yrs & up experienced employees specializing in IT.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:
* Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any IT-related course and must have excellent oral and written English communication skills.
* Must be knowledgeable in basic programming skills (i.e. SMTP/HTTP, Assembly Language, C/C++).
