Responsibilities:

  • Ensure security measures at the sugar room, syrup room, crown/cap room, cold room, dry beverage base storage at all times.
  • Responsible for the continuous supply of syrup at standard brix, volume and quantities to the bottling line.
  • In simple syrup preparation, ensure that there is 100% weighing of sugar, each bag is thoroughly brushed to rid of any clinging dirt prior to dumping.
  • Prepare all the necessary quantities of concentrates and beverage bases for the syrup preparation order using FIFO (First In – First Out) procedure.
  • Rinse thoroughly the external surfaces of the drums and jugs prior to use.
  • Finalize the color, smell and taste of all flavoring materials used for the manufacture of various softdrinks.

  • Report immediately to QC or Production Supervisor any defects detected in the flavors, concentrates, sugar, crown/cap.
  • Prepares the syrup following the Mixing Instructions Manual (at QC Head’s Office).
  • When pouring the concentrates, ensure thorough rinsing of the insides of the containers to rinse off all residual flavors in the prepared syrup batch.

PROCESS SUPERVISOR (ILAGAN)

Responsibilities:

  • I. Process Management and Control
  • Assists Production Supervisor in the early start-up of bottling operations.
  • Ensures the smooth and proper operation of the water treating unit to assure the continuous supply of correctly treated process water.
  • Sees to it that water treating standard operating procedure and quality water standards are strictly followed and adhered to, such as the correct procedures on backwashing and regeneration, regarding of sand and gravel beds, chemical charging and standards on alkalinity, residual chlorine, etc.
  • Checks the availability of empty bottles (scheduled for production) in stock and confers with the Plant Warehouse Operations Supervisor or Product Supply Coordinator for the expected arrival in case the stock of empties is not sufficient.
  • Calculates the required syrup for the day's bottling schedule and ties this up with the available empties. This is necessary to avoid syrup delays and leftovers of syrup when the inventory of containers is not enough for the day.
  • Interprets the results of Quality Assurance analysis of treated water. Analyzes and recommends corrective actions when test values are off.
  • Sees to it that syrup room practices and syrup quality standards such as 100% sugar weighing, dissolving beverage base powder, concentrate pouring, mixing time, retention time, brix, final volume, etc. are strictly followed and adhered to by the syrup room personnel.
  • Monitors the physical and mechanical conditions of process equipment such as chemical feeders, pumps, and motors, filter press, refrigeration units, etc. and initiates corrective actions if necessary. Examines the malfunctioning of the machines and informs the Maintenance Supervisor for necessary repairs needed.
  • II.Sanitation/Quality Workplace/Occupational Health & Safety/Environment/Security/Food Safety
  • Monitors the sanitation and sterilization schedules and procedures of process equipment such as syrup tanks and lines, filter press, sand filters, carbon purifiers, etc. are strictly and effectively followed by the personnel concerned.
  • Sees to it that proper housekeeping and good manufacturing process is consistently maintained and observed in the sugar bodega, cold storage, CO2 area.
  • Ensures that cost-bottling sterilization process of syrup lines, filler and carbo-cooler machines are adequately manned by water treating and syrup room personnel.
  • Ensures that the security and safety measures on the process areas are strictly implemented.
  • Sees to it that the Quality Assurance findings and recommendations from Quality Workplace and Safety Inspection surveys are immediately corrected or implemented.
  • III. Processing Materials Utilization and Control
  • Monitors syrup, sugar, crown, caps, caustic soda, CO2 yields, waste treating unit parameters, on a shift, daily and month-to-date basis. Ensures compliance to required standards.
  • Evaluates yield data and coordinates with the Production Supervisors the necessary corrective actions to be implemented. Matches actual materials consumed with total number of products produced (number of cases), and avoids any variance through proper analysis.
  • Coordinates with the Materials Resources Supervisor regarding the replacement and storage of manufacturing materials and supplies.
  • Ensures and consistently implement that the manufacturing supplies and materials are properly stored by following the required materials storage procedures.
  • Ensures that the "first-to expire first-out" (FEFO) stock rotation procedure is consistently implemented. Instructs the personnel concerned to follow the batch number of raw materials and supplies.
